I have been working on the movements with proper rotation on my backswing (without a club). I have my arms 2″ apart until I get my shoulders fully turned and then I do right elbow flexion and some shoulder elevation. Once I am fully turned I feel some engagement or I guess flexing on my left pec when I hold this position. If I drop my left arm down it goes away, but when I bring my left hand back in connection with my right hand I feel this right away. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? I am really focusing on keeping my lats engaged and arms passive.

Chuck,You said Tiger rotates less, is that his hips that rotate less? I am confused about the hip action on the downswing. How can you slow down the hip turn and at the same time pull from the left as hard as you want? It looks like both you and Tiger try to minimize hip rotation up until impact so the club can get down in front. Can you get your left hip to far back on the downswing by pulling to hard?

For me, its all about having the knowledge to and using that knowledge to improve my swing. I played golf to junior county level as a teenager, and spent a year at age 17, practicing to try to get better.I failed, because I never knew what, or how to practice. I gave up golf for 25 years because I had had put the effort into improving, but in fact got worse. I decided to take it up again a few years ago, and although I have not improved much, I can see light at the end of the tunnel. This is what I need to keep going. My scores do not bother me much, its the hitting of pure shots with a decent swing that drives me.The problem is that I may only hit one [...]

Hi, I am a new member to forum post, but a rotary swing tour follower for a few months. Hopefully, this post comes through correctly. After a visit with Al in person a month ago, I am having trouble from 9 o’clock to the top. From 9 o’clock on, my left arm and wrist seem to rotate too much. Pushing my right elbow down and giving me a very laid off/club face shut position at the top. My only save is a last second pickup with my right arm to help me get it coming back down on plane. My shoulders are fully turned and my arms haven’t really swung across my chest. My right arm is still connected to the box. Al and I worked on shoulder elevation after 45 degrees rotation, [...]
