Here’s a story unrelated to golf but relevant to those of us trying to break bad swing habits. After 17 years away from collegiate rowing, i decided to start training this week for the Head of the Charles in October. So tonight I’m on the rowing machine at the gym. Since most gym rats technique on the erg is terrible, former rowers are easy to spot. So a guy who rowed for Dartmouth comes up to me and asked me who I rowed for. Then he says I can tell you were a port (row with oar on right). Since the rowing machine is off the water there is no need to hinge your wrists, so i asked him how he knew.
